Our first sandwich shop, the predecessor to Yampa Sandwich Company™, was founded in 1999 in Steamboat Springs by Peter Boniface and David Pepin. High school buddies from New England, they reconnected after college over their shared passion for backcountry skiing. But it wasn’t long before they worked up an appetite for something they felt the local restaurant scene lacked—delicious, nutritious, hearty, sandwiches that could fuel their daily adventures.
And so, the sandwich company was born.
To care as much about the food we prepare as we do about the people who eat it. We will achieve this by sourcing natural ingredients, providing exceptional service and investing in our communities and beyond. We will be the sandwich company you love.
We chose the name Yampa in honor of the Yampa River that flows through Steamboat Springs, our original stomping grounds. It’s a tribute to the town where we got our start and the adventures that inspired us to open up shop in the first place.
It’s not just the ingredients that make our sandwiches great. We think it’s the passion behind them, and the values that guide everything we do.
Sometimes it's a huge ascent. Others, it’s a nine-column spreadsheet. No matter what you’re getting after, we’ll make sure you’re well fed for it.
Our sandwiches are handcrafted from the highest quality ingredients using antibiotic-free meats and non-GMO everything.
We play the music loud. We have our own kickball team. Because we think food tastes better when you have fun making it.
